FIBRE ART WALES' latest exhibition - Journeys Click on the boxes to see examples of some of the work from the exhibition.
Journeys is yet another evocative title that has drawn a wide and varied response from FIBRE ART WALES' members. It can be interpreted as the physical ephemeral evidence of passing; marks made by birds, animals and man. A journey can be the instinctive response to a desire to break the mould of everyday humdrum existence; to move on to see what maybe lies over the horizon; to challenge the new and unexpected. Journeys implies, in one sense at least, moving forward with a purpose, a goal in mind and this has been one of the main aims of all the exhibitions the group has mounted; to move forward in terms of individual development, breaking any preconceptions about the nature and scope of fibre art. From the outset the interaction of the different disciplines has been seen as a major, significant benefit. The artists of Fibre Art Wales have explored these various aspects with their customary vigour and enthusiasm to produce another stimulating exhibition. - Jill Nicholls 2007 Artists include - Bethan Ash | Susan Chapman | Bailey Curtis | Helen Foroughi | Michelle Griffiths | Ruth Harries | Sarah Louise Holmes | Alison Mercer | Lisa Porch \ Laura Thomas | Sandie Welch |For further information on Journeys please contact - Ruth Harries |
