Workshops -
Michelle holds a PGCE in Secondary Education (Music) for which she was awarded the Dame Oliver Wheeler prize (1989). She spent six years as Head of Music in two schools in Wales. Due to long term illness Michelle retired from full time teaching in 1996. As a result of winning the Embroiderers' Guild Scholarship she now teaches surface design with special reference to the shibori related techniques which she uses in her own work.
Michelle is a part time tutor in the Visual Art Department at Atlantic College, St Donats Castle, South Wales. She also accepts bookings for adult's and children's workshops, as well as for slide lectures on her work or on the work of other contemporary shibori artists. A wide variety of workshops are available not only to universities and colleges but also to primary and secondary schools ranging from 1 to 7 days in length. These can be adapted and arranged to suit specific curriculum and student requirements.
