Statement -
The woven textiles that I design and make have long been about combining the two seemingly disparate ‘graphic’ and ‘organic’. I take great inspiration from the
landscape of my home county of Pembrokeshire: its dramatic coastlines, hills and forests; and similarly I am drawn to the world of visual communications:
its slick, ordered and controlled aesthetics. My fabrics reflect this amalgam of interests: refined, minimal textiles with an emphasis on sleek, unfussy use of
colour, combined with a sensitive use of texture, pattern and surface qualities. Whilst I favour natural materials such as silk, mercerised cotton and lambswool,
I love to combine these choices with unusual modern yarns made from, for example, paper, cotton and steel.

I am a very versatile designer whose interests and projects span many different spheres. I have a real passion and practical curiosity for my medium, most
notably to challenge the prevailing assumption that woven fabrics have to be flat and obey the horizontal and vertical rule of warp and weft. I also relish artistic
collaborations, which question the context in which textiles are traditionally used.
